For scriptwriting drama in Arabic, we have based our Arabic screenplay formatting on the American screenplay standard. The font is the standard Courier used for screenplays. We offer quick formatting for all common formatting needs, such as character, dialogue, parenthesis, transitions etc. Some formatting differs from Latin language formatting
What font are screenplays written? Courier font As such, most screenplays are written in Courier font, 12-point size, single-spaced. Courier is a “fixed-pitch” or monospaced font, which means that each character and space is exactly the same width.
FADE IN is the first text on the first line of your script (the beginning). FADE OUT — or FADE TO BLACK — is for the end of the script. Writing THE END in place of either of those will work as well. DISSOLVE TO is the proper transition to use within the script, if needed. It’s a common mistake, but a very annoying one.
If you would like to open the Breakdown or Shot List this will be on the right menu of the script instead. If you were a previous user of the script editor you may have added some extra scripts or files under the older Additional File option. You can still find these files, under File & Media option at the bottom and then clicking on File.

Screenplays were written in the Courier font since the 1950s because it was widely available on typewriters (Price, 2013, p. 202). Combined, the rise of the spec script, screenwriting manuals and a common font set the scene for the standard screenplay of the late 70s.
However, in most cases the important thing to consider is will the reader have an easy time reading the play. Literary Managers are often reading several scripts a day and it is important that the font is of a reasonable size and is legible. Consider some white space on the page, to give the language some room to breathe.
